Investigations of process of phase transformation during manufacturing the ceramic materials containing the alumina-magnesia spinel and aluminum nitride have been performed. Scheme of manufacturing the final products includes synthesis under combustion conditions and subsequent pressing of the produced powders. Nanodispersed metallic aluminum has been utilized as raw material providing the nitride phase during combustion. Principle opportunity for manufacturing the spinel-nitride ceramic compounds by such method has been shown. Influence of chemical form of initial reacting substances on compositions and properties of the produced crystalline phases has been determined.
