Surface chemiluminescence excitation mechanisms and nonequilibrium processes of desorption and diffusion

Abstract

The appearance of heterogeneous chemiluminescence (HC) on the surfaces of ZnS-Tm and CaO-Bi systems, is studied. The effect mechanism is proposed. Activating ion emission into vacuum under the recombination of H atoms, glowing centers diffusion onto the specimen surface and the specimen aging during the above processes, are considered. The HC kinetics is determined by changes of the quantum yield per one atom recombination.
