Abstract

Oscillation of superpower short microwave pulses with the help of a relativistic back-wave tube (BWT) was theoretically and experimentally studied. The conditions were found for an one-dimensional non-steady model when the first burst peak power can exceed electron beam power. That is confirmed experimentally in the wavelength bands 3 cm and 8 mm.
