The results of studies of high-order harmonics arising during the operation of high-voltage pulse generators on a low-resistance load are presented. It is established that distortion of the sinusoid shape occurs, and that the nonsinusoidality of the voltage greatly exceeds the permissible 5% level. It is shown that higher harmonics cause additional losses in the capacitors. To reduce the amplitudes of the higher harmonics, it is recommended that a power filter of L-C type, tuned to the frequency of the third harmonic, be used.
