Abstract

Alloys of the following compositions were prepared (wt. %) Ni-6 Al-1 Ti, Ni-7 Al Ni-6. 7 Si, Ni-17 Cr-3. 5 Al-1 Ti, Ni-17 Cr-2. 7 Al. Relief of work hardening and formation of a two-phase structure may be achieved in three ways: by combined reaction of recrystallization and interrupted decomposition; formation of a duplex microstructure consisting of grains of a gamma solid solution and a gamma prime phase; dissolution of gamma prime particles on migrating boundaries followed by continuous precipitation of particles inside recrystallized grains. Formation of the duplex microstructure is studied in detail.
