Structure and properties of subjected to rapid quenching surface tool steels

Abstract

This paper describes way of surface hardening of carbon and alloy tool steels with the pulsed solid state laser. The aim of the work is to get hardened surface layer which does not require additional heat treatment. Structure and properties of the material were investigated.
