Abstract
The structure and properties of gel electrolytes based on a methyl methacrylate-potassium methacrylate copolymer, poly(ethylene glycol), an aprotic donor solvent, and metal trifluoroacetates were investigated. The electric conductivity of the electrolytes, the range of their electrochemical stability, and the feasibility of electrowinning of metals from their ions were studied depending on the nature and the ratio of basic components of a polymer system. Processes occurring in the polymer in the contact some metals that are widely used as electrode materials (copper, platinum, silver, lead, zinc, and mercury) in the absence and in the presence of electric field are considered.
