Structure and phase composition of plasma coatings based on nickel alloys under the action of laser irradiation

Abstract

The effect of the steady-state laser irradiation on the structure and phase composition of plasma coatings is studied under the conditions of melting the coatings. The light and transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron microscopy, and chemical analysis were used in the study. Laser irradiation leads to the formation of face-centered cubic Ni-based solid solution and the dendrite-like structures of the strengthening phases. The changes in the phase composition are connected with the formation of new phases of chromium nitrocarbonates. Microhardness of the phases decreases.
