Abstract

The main specifications are given for a streamer chamber designed to study **4He( gamma , pi **o )**4He and **4He( gamma , n pi **o )**3He reactions in the range p less than equivalent to 0. 24 Gev/sec of momenta transferred to the nucleus. The rectangular streamer chamber measuring 45 multiplied by 45 multiplied by 18 cm is filled with helium. The chamber is powered by a coaxial line generating 500-kv pulses of 12-nsec duration. The gamma -ray telescope contains a Cerenkov total absorption spectrometer with 20 multiplied by 20 multiplied by 30 cm radiator.
