Abstract

Physical model of steel destruction under the action of high-temperature heterogeneous gas stream with a high concentration of solid particles is considered. The processes occurring during the steel destruction, in particular, structure changes near the walls of crater formed on the surface are investigated. It is shown that the mode of destruction is not impact and the traces of plastic deformation is absent. The steel temperature at the moment of destruction does not exceed of 1000 K that much below than the melt temperature.
