Stationary three-dimensional solitary waves on a falling liquid film

Abstract

The formation of stationary 3D solitary waves was for the first time observed owing to use of the point excitation source and under conditions of small Re number values 2.0<Re<5.0. These Re values are close to Re values for residual layer at developed wave flow of films. Experimental data on propagation regularities and steric form of three-dimensional disturbances are obtained.
