Abstract
The paper presents the results of computer simulation of the strain-induced behavior of thermal barrier coatings. The possibility of periodic instabilities to arise is demonstrated. The characteristic period of the instabilities in relation to the properties of conjugate materials is studied by the example of thermal loading of a ceramic-coated Cu specimen.
