The engineering method of the calculation of the separation of powder material in a pneumatic centrifugal apparatus is presented. The method is based on the numerical calculation of the hydrodynamics of the swirling flow of the carrier medium with the help of the Wilcox k-ω turbulence model and the fractional separation of the particles in the field of action of centrifugal and aerodynamic forces. Two original procedures for the determination of the Tromp probabilistic separation curves are suggested. The results of the numerical experiment are compared with the experimental data.
