Abstract

The results of a theoretical and experimental investigation of the stimulated emission of a high-current electron beam, propagating in a spatially periodic transverse magnetic field and a homogeneous longitudinal magnetic field, under conditions of cyclotron resonance with the combination wave, are presented. Satisfactory agreement is obtained between the theoretical conclusions and the experimental observations of the excitation conditions, the interaction length and the emission efficiency.
