Silicophosphate glasses as a component of bioactive coatings

Abstract

The compositions and properties of bioactive silicate materials are considered. Biocompatible sodium-silicophosphate glasses for the formation of coatings over titanium implants are developed. The possibility of producing hydroxyapatite coatings on titanium using glasses of Na2O-SiO2-P2O5 system is investigated.
