Abstract
This work compared the electrochemical reduction of osmium graphite, glassy-carbon, and gold electrodes in order to develop a procedure for the stripping-voltammetric (SV) determination of osmium in industrial objects. Under the experimental conditions used, the relative error of measurements made on a platinum electrode exceeds 25%; this prevents its use for the determination of osmium by SV. The voltammograms were taken on an LP-9 polarograph by using a linear change of the electrode potential (v equals 0. 05 V/sec). An electrolyzer with exchangeable beakers was used in the work.
