Abstract

Descriptions are given of minerals in the Seligdar deposit, central Aldan region, which have crystallized in an anisotropic stress field. These minerals form linear and linear-planar aggregates, and braided and banded structures in the rocks. The clearly defined stressed nature of the apatite is demonstrated, showing in the formation of stunted pseudo-orthorhombic, pseudo-monoclinic, pseudo-triclinic and spiral forms of crystals. A relict dynamometamorphosed quartz is described in the primary rocks, which have been replaced by apatite-carbonate ores.-D.A.B.
