Abstract
The results of an experimental investigation of rivulet (streamlet) wave flow along the outer surface of an inclined cylinder are given. It is shown that the rivulet flow is unstable. As a result of this instability nonlinear waves develop on the rivulet surface. Various types of surface waves are described. The superimposed vibration method is used for studying the wave characteristics in detail. New forms of wave motion as compared with the case of liquid film flow are revealed.
