Rivulet flow of liquid on the outer surface of an inclined cylinder

Abstract

The rivulet flow of a viscous liquid on the external surface of an inclined cylinder in jet irrigation is studied. It is shown that in the range of parameters considered, the magnitude of the wetted surface of the cylinder is constant and is not dependent on the flow rate. The data on the thickness of the rivulet, the wave characteristics, and on the amount of liquid ejected due to drop separation from the free surface are presented.
