Relaxation waves during plastic deformation of amorphous alloy Fe40Ni40B20

Abstract

An experimental investigation is made of plastic deformation of a ribbon of amorphous alloy Fe40Ni40B20 during tension up to 2%. By analysis of the displacement field on the surface of specimens, it is established that plastic deformation in the alloy is in the form of a wave with shear and rotational components. Its parameters are determined and an interpretation is offered.
