Abstract
Problems in determining the probability of introduction of an electric-discharge channel into the bulk of a solid body during electric pulse crushing and grinding are considered. Results are presented from theoretical and experimental studies of the introduction of a discharge channel into a solid body and from studies of the efficiency of a single pulse for the case of the crushing of quartz glass with variation of the parameters of the pulse and the working gap in the crushing chamber. In addition, the adequacy of the proposed method of calculating the energy indices of the fracturing of solid bodies is established.
