Abstract

Correlation ratios were derived between chemical shift values of 1H and 13C NMR spectra of a number of aliphatic, aromatic and heterocyclic vinyl monomers and parameters of their activity in radical homo- and copolymerization, including the activation energy of chain propagation, localization energies for monomers and radical, the product of constants of copolymerization of styrene with vinyl monomers and others. The possibility was investigated of using the correlations derived for predicting the reactivity of monomers that have been little examined.
