Reflection spectra and quantum yield of photoemission of nitrates and chlorinates of alkali metals in the energy range from 10 to 30 eV

Abstract

The reflection spectra and quantum yield photoemission of CsNO3, NaNO3, NaClO3 and KClO3 crystals have been measured at photon energies from 10 to 30 eV in the VUV beam line at the 1.5 GeV synchrotron SYRIUS. The observed structure at 12-18 eV in the reflection spectra of CsNO3 and KClO3 is connected with the excitation of a cation exciton. The peculiarities in the reflection spectra of NaNO3 and NaClO3 are determined by interband transitions. The processes of the multiplication of electron excitation are observed in the high-energy region of the quantum yield spectrum of CsNO3 and KClO3.
