Abstract

Experiments are reported on the reflection of a high-current beam of relativistic electrons from a conducting surface at an air pressure sufficient for self-focusing of the beam. The reflection occurs with a low loss at a pressure of 0. 09 torr and at reflection angles up to 30 degree . The experiments are carried out at electron energies of 0. 6 and 1. 0 MeV.
