Abstract

Pyrite from the vein, stockwork and contact-metasomatic type of Au deposits contains U 0.1-1.02 and Th < 0.5-1.67 ppm; the pyrite has a high (0.4-9.0) Th/U ratio. Pyrites from E Sayan have a higher U content and lower Th/U ratio than those from the Kuznetsk Alatau. The occurrence of pyrite with different radiogeochemical characteristics in this ore field can be attributed to different sources for the ore-forming material. There is a significant negative correlation between Au and U + Th in pyrite, whereas there is a positive correlation between U and Th.-R.A.H.
