Radiation of 6 MeV electron beam in the combined magnetic field

Abstract

Free electron laser (FED with combined magnetic field in which the 6 MeV microtron serves as a source of election beam is considered. Magnetic field in FEL is a superposition of axial field B0 of solenoid and space-periodic transverse field B of undulator. The solution of equation of electron motion in this field with taking into account a transverse gradient of undulator field is presented. FEL optimization according the parameter B/B0 and with taking into account a real undulator aperture is carried out. The experimental setup used to study the electron dynamics in FEL with combined magnetic field has been considered. Relative intensity of radiation for different ratios of B/B0 is measured.
