Abstract

The authors describe high-voltage generators for pumping of self-maintained space-discharges in CO2:N2:He gas mixtures that permit discharges to be formed in a system of unprofiled electrodes by filling the discharge gap beforehand by a stream of electrons from the plasma of an auxiliary discharge. The output parameters of the generators can be varied within wide limits: pulse rise times of from units to tens of microseconds and amplitudes of up to 400 kV. The generators provide self-maintained space discharges in discharge gaps of up to 60 cm with an energy contribution of up to 300 J/liter.
