Abstract
Here, we study pulsed cathodoluminescence of "pure" and Nd 3+ doped YLiF4 crystals. Luminescence spectrum covers two short-lived bands with maxima at 4.3 and 3.2 eV and a halfwidth of 0.9 eV each. Irradiated at 15 K, "pure" and Nd3+ doped crystals of YLiF4 have induced color centers that provide for the absorption band reaching maxima of 2.1 and 3.7 eV in the main bands.
