Abstract
A high speed shaper-discriminator with sensitivity controlled to 80 mV and compensation of the amplitude dependence of output signal delay is described. For a change in input pulse amplitude (with pulse risetime tau //r equals 15 nsec) from the shaper threshold U//t to a value of 1. 8 U//t the output pulse time shift DELTA t less than equivalent to 150 psec, while for a change from 1. 8 U//t to 5 V DELTA t equals plus or minus 50 psec. The resolving time of scintillation counters and cerenkov spectrometers with various Soviet-made photomultiplier tubes is presented. A Cerenkov spectrometer with tau equals plus or minus 0. 4 nsec is obtained.
