By means of computer simulation is investigated the resonant coherent excitation (RCE) of relativistic hydrogen-like heavy ions in a crystal. In the case it is possible to observe photon emission by the heavy ions behind a crystal in dependence on the ion beam initial energy. RCE and charge states calculations allow to determine the ion beam state and level population behind the crystal. The method is applied for RCE of relativistic ions Ni+27 flying through a single crystal Si in the 〈110〉 direction. Dependences are obtained for intensity and photon number on the incoming ion energy. The conclusion is made that photon detection may be a perspective method for investigation of RCE of relativistic heavy ions.
