PROTECTION FROM GROUNDING OF STATOR WINDING OF GENERATORS THAT OPERATE ON COLLECTING LINES.

Abstract

Protection from grounding of the stator windings of generators that operate on collecting lines is now carried out by means of a line transformer of zero sequence current with magnetization (LTZC). Owing to the high imbalance current is is not possible to carry out sensitive protection that reacts to a current of industrial frequency. Solving this problem is possible by applying a control current with a frequency of 25 Hz to the generator voltage circuit, since in this case frequency detuning from the imbalance current is possible. This article describes development of a protection based on this principle.
