Production of porous ceramics based on bacor

Abstract

Porous ceramic materials are widely utilized in order to reduce heat conduction of lining of plant. Gas and liquid permeability of units can also be improved in case of application of porous ceramics. Therefore, various materials have been investigated in order to create the porous ceramics. Results of the investigations have shown that fines of bacor refractories can be used for manufacturing the porous ceramics. Application of dispersed powders of Al2O3 and ZrO2 as additives makes it possible to control the technological and operational properties of the porous ceramics.
