Abstract
A process is proposed for the synthesis of nanocrystalline VMg(OH) x and VO x • MgO with specific surface areas of up to 1200 and 470 m 2/g, respectively. The synthesized VO x • MgO oxides consist of nanocrystals (2́-5 nm), which form platelike agglomerates. As distinct from conventional impregnation of magnesium oxide, the aerogel process for VO x • MgO synthesis ensures a uniform vanadium distribution in MgO.
