Abstract
MIM [metal insulator-metal] cathode arrays consist of mutually perpendicular metallic thin-film strips between which the MIM cathodes, extended beyond the limits of the upper current-carrying busbar, are connected. The most suitable thickness of the operating insulator, the degree of roughness of the lower electrode, and the parameters of the pulses for the forming the MIM cathodes are determined. Test samples of flat screens are prepared with arrays of 32 × 16 cathodes are a luminescence intensity comparable to the best examples of other types of flat screens.
