Photoproduction of η-Mesic Nuclei 3 ηHe and ηT and the Possibility of Their Detection by the Spectrum of Knock-on Nucleons

Abstract

The cross sections for the formation of η-mesic nuclei 3 ηHe and ηT by photons on 4He nuclei are calculated in the approximation of quasifree meson photoproduction on nuclei. The possibility of detecting η-mesic nuclei by the peak in the spectrum of knock-on nucleons from the process 4He(γ, p) is studied.
