Abstract
On the base of X-ray structure and layer-by-layer electron-microscopic analysis, the patterns of interaction zone formation in preliminarily quenched steel 45, treated with low-energy microsecond high-current electron beam in the mode of initial melting, are studied. The zone consists of several characteristic areas. The formation conditions of these areas are considered on the basis of an analysis of heat and deformation processes.
