Pattern of brittle layer cracking under tension of coated specimens

Abstract

In the given work peculiarities of plastic deformation and fracture of compositions with gradient coatings under static uniaxial tension were investigated. Surface hardening was performed by diffusion borating. The studying of cracking processes of. borated layers was carried out by analysis of the plane face of working parts of failured specimens with the use of the TESLA BS 300 scanning electron microscope.
