The article deals with the theoretical and experimental results of the complex optimization of instruments for the nondestructive radiation control of the wall thickness of metallic vessels and pipes. Optimization was according to the multidimensional vector of structural elements and operating regimes of the instrument: the spatial energy-angular distribution of the radiation source; the energy range of registration of radiation; the type, geometric disposition, and dimensions of the detector.
