The influence of acoustic oscillations produced in an absorber on the shape of Moessbauer absorption lines is discussed. It is shown that the absorption lineshape strongly depends on the excited acoustic wave parameters in the absorber i. e. on the ultrasonic wave amplitude, its frequency, and standing wave coefficient. Some possible applications, especially the possibility of acoustic modulation of the Moessbauer emission passing the absorber are examined.
