Abstract
The current of a magnetized steady-state thin annular electron beam with a virtual cathode in a drift tube was analyzed. It was shown that the transit current in the stationary case ranged from zero to the limiting current of the tube. Possible stationary states were found without studying their stability and the ways of realization. It was found that the flux of the z-component of the magnetic field and particle momentum through the volume boundary was equal to zero.
