Abstract
Researches of air-dried and heat-treated peat sorbent for determining its ability to destroy oil on the water surface were carried out. Physiological groups of bacterium and microorganisms from raw and oil contaminated peat extracts, which were in contact with oil and drinking water from centralized supply systems during two months, were defined. Also it was found that heat treatment has impact on bacterium reproductive activity, oil destruction rate, oil concentration in water.
