Abstract

Results are reported for a statistical analysis of the distributions of the number of pulses to breakdown for specimens of polyethylene, Fluoroplast-4 (Teflon), and type EZK-7 epoxy compound tested in a pulse transmission frequency range of 10-800 pulses/sec. The field strength of the space charges accumulating in the dielectric during its electrical aging was measured in control experiments.
