Abstract
A study was conducted to demonstrate nucleate boiling in pure-water and salt-water droplets. The horizontal surface of the cylinder fabricated of copper with a low content of O2 was polished, and a micron gold layer was plasma-deposited. The boiling of droplets was implemented on the horizontal heated surface of the wall in the air atmosphere. The wall temperature was supported constant and measured by thermocouples located near the wall. The temperature at the surface of droplets was measured by a NEC-San Instruments thermovisor. The roughness state of the wall was characterized with the help of an electron microscope.
