Non-equilibrium release of atomic hydrogen from metals under irradiation

The release of the atomic hydrogen isotopes and positively charged ions under irradiation by electrons were studied in pre-threshold region of metals saturated by hydrogen isotopes. The irradiation of the metals saturated by hydrogen and deuterium by electrons with the energy 104-105 eV was accompanied by the excitation of internal hydrogen atmosphere. It is found that the positive ions emission current increases proportional to the square of the current of incident electron beam.
