Nomograms for calculation of shielding from dissipated X-ray radiation

Abstract

The nomograms are obtained for calculating the shielding thickness from scattered X-ray radiation in the voltage band 75-450 kV. The nomograms are calculated for the main shielding materials (lead, iron, concrete) with exact consideration of the spectral composition of a radiation source, the contribution of secondary scattered radiation and the new norms of radiation safety NRB-96. The nomograms are suggested to be used for calculating the shielding as more accurate and convenient as compared with the 'old' calculation methods.
