Nomograms for calculating parameters of shields against scattered x-rays

Abstract

Nomograms for calculating thickness of shields against scattered X-rays generated at voltages of 75-450 kV are presented. The nomograms were calculated for the common shielding materials, namely, lead, iron, and concrete, with due account of the spectrum of primary radiation, the contribution of secondary radiation, and new radiation safety regulations NRB-96.
