New raw material for aluminosilicate ceramics

Abstract

Quality of ceramic materials for refractory and engineering purpose should be improved. In case of production of aluminosilicate ceramics, quality of products can be improved by means of utilization of new raw materials containing topaz. Particularities in chemical and mineralogical compositions of topaz-containing raw materials from 'Kopna' deposit have been investigated. Prospects for utilizing the rocks with various contents of topaz and topaz concentrates have been determined. These materials can be used during manufacturing the aluminosilicate refractories for thermal insulating and general purposes.
