Abstract
Two compact neon plasma lasers are described in which the gas mixture is pumped by a transverse or longitudinal electron beam, and test results are presented. IMA3-150E sealed electron tubes are used, and the electron beam is focused by samarium-cobalt permanent magnets. Generation with a repetition frequency of up to 50 Hz is obtained in neon ( lambda equals 585. 3 nm) and xenon ( lambda equals 1. 73 mu m).
