Monochromatization of bremsstrahlung radiation of 5.7 MeV electrons in a thin amorphous target

Abstract

The possibility of using cyclic electron accelerators with energy less than 50 MeV for generation of monochromatic X-ray beams was investigated. The experiment at the bremsstrahlung beam generated by 5.7 MeV electrons of NPI TPU microtron was carried out. We used crystals of silicon, diamond and pyrolytic graphite as monochromator. The experimental results confirm the possibility of obtaining monochromatic beams of X-ray radiation with tuning wave length by energy electron accelerators.
