Abstract
Based on experimental study, a qualitative model was suggested for the electron pinch formation in high-power rod-pinch diodes [1,2], In this model, it was assumed that the magnetic field slows the anode plasma expansion during the quasisteady stage of the pinch. The present paper reports on a model of the quasisteady state of the pinch where account is taken of plasma expansion.
